Kids Summer Fashion Tips

The sun is shining and so is your little model! As summer continues in full swing, it’s time to evaluate how things are shifting in the fashion world. Summertime means fresh new styles, filled with bright, casual and fun looks. Whether you’re getting ready for potential castings, social media posts, or just going out and about, models are known for their impeccable fashion sense, and Bensimon Kids are no exception! So without further ado, here are some summer style tips for kids modeling!

Brights and Whites

Summertime is the perfect chance to show off those more exciting colors that you don’t see as often in the other months. Don’t be afraid to experiment with some color blocking by mixing a couple of your favorite summer colors.  A bold yellow or a vibrant lilac perhaps? If brights aren’t really your kid’s thing, keep it simple with a pure white and you really can’t go wrong.

A Passion for Prints 

A petaled dress or a hawaiian button-down can offer vacation vibes for all our eyes. For something a little sweeter, opt for a fruit print. Lemons, cherries, and berries are highlights of the summer style season. Not to mention, these fun prints really pop on camera!

Suit Up!

Mix and match poolside apparel with cute cover ups, shorts, or tshirts. This is a great chance to show off beachy kids summer fashion, or make the backyard their runway. Pair the piece with a towel or a bucket hat to complete the look!

Keep it Cool

It is getting hot out there this summer season! Reach for loose-fitting, thin materials that let your child’s skin breathe. This can avoid sweat stains and makes your little one more comfortable too. If your child is feeling worn out in what they are wearing out, it will show. So opt for the summer style that lets them feel as cool as they are!

Cover Up or Lather Up!

As your little one is soaking up the sun, we want to make sure their skin is nice and safe, too. On top of the big ouch that comes from a sunburn, it can also make trying on outfits for kids modeling shoots pretty impossible. Your child won’t be smiling in any photos while they are in pain. So be sure to use long loose fabrics that protect the skin from the sun, or lather up with sunblock to keep the smiles going even after they’ve had their day in the sun.

Another great thing about summer? The seemingly endless opportunities to accessorize! Things like beach bags, towels, and blow-up balls can make the season feel even sunnier. To grab some shade, bring along a colorful umbrella, your favorite pair of sunglasses, and a stylish hat. If your model is rocking a pair of sneakers, let a cute pair of socks peek out for a little extra summer style. And why not bring a camera on your next adventure? It can act as a fun prop and a memory maker too.
