School’s in Session: Why We Always Recommend Acting Classes

Everyone needs support from time to time, especially when you’re starting a new career. It’s important to take the correct steps in order to learn as much as possible about the industry you are entering. When it comes to breaking into the modeling/acting space, your child will need to come equipped with every skill they can acquire. This is important because everyone trying to make it is highly skilled and motivated. The key is to be more knowledgeable than the rest. One of the easiest ways to do that is with acting classes. It cannot be understated how helpful these classes can be. Not only do they teach your child model skills when it comes to acting, but they can also improve their modeling as well.

Acting classes utilize a person’s natural talents and help your child to express them in an organic way. One of the challenges with acting is simply being yourself in front of the camera or an audience, which can lead to overacting. This is why we push so hard for up and coming child models to take these classes. Here are some more reasons why:

Knowledge Is Power

The biggest reason to sign your child up for acting classes is simply for them to learn more about their craft. The more knowledgeable they are the easier it will be for them to be prepared for what’s ahead. They’ll learn tools they can use while auditioning for roles as well as on set. In any job or industry, those with the most knowledge tend to perform better. This is because when they enter a new situation they are able to call upon what they have learned and react accordingly.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Nothing beats practice, everyone knows that. The more reps your child can get acting as different characters, in different situations, and with multiple other actors, the more prepared they will be when they step on set. There is no substitute for practice, and the more they get the better. In the acting class they will have scene partners, monologues, choreography, everything that deals with being on stage or in front of the camera. While working on all these things at home will be great, there’s nothing like the guidance of a pro to push your child to new heights.

A Good Mentor

Another aspect of joining the right acting class that can make a huge difference in your child’s career is finding a mentor. Hopefully the teacher can become a guide for your child to learn from. Many times you can find an acting class where the teacher worked in Hollywood and can give your child real life advice on how to succeed. This would be the ultimate benefit of joining the class. Nothing can make up for having a good mentor. It’s something that everyone in the business mentions as the reason they succeeded. Make sure to do your research and pick a class based on the teacher and not simply reviews.

At Bensimon Models and Talent we try to help all our models become the best version of themselves. By joining acting classes this is just one of many ways they can improve. So do your due diligence and get your child on the path to success!
