Travel Tips for Child Models

The life of a child model can be filled with glitz and glam and tons of adventure. But in order to enjoy the many perks that come with the lifestyle, you’ll have to learn how to travel properly and intelligently. Traveling can be difficult on its own, but when you add children to the mix it gets even more intense. Juggling kids, purses, luggage, snacks, and deadlines can be overwhelming, but with a little help from us you’ll be on your way to traveling with ease. Make a List

Before you go, create a list of things you need to bring with you and check them off as you pack. Child models need a ton of different clothing options and make-up kits in order to get ready for everything. The list should also include any work the child model might have to do while on the road or on the plane. The more you are able to keep things straight with what needs to get done, the better the trip will go, since you’ll at least know you have everything you need.

Always Be Early

You never know what can go wrong while you’re traveling and time is always of the essence. You’ll want to leave extra early for any road trips to auditions in case of traffic and show up at least 2 hours before your domestic flight just in case of any mishaps. This is essential to the life and career of a child model, because you can never be late to any auditions or casting calls. 

Bring Munchies!

The only thing tougher than traveling with kids is traveling with hungry kids. You’ll always want to make sure you keep snacks handy and quick meals ready so when the kids get hungry you can quickly keep them at peace. It can also help to give your child model an energy boost before a casting session or audition. After all, you don’t want them showing up groggy and lethargic when trying to book an important job. 

Keep Spirits Up

Traveling for long hours, waking up early, and everything else that goes into the life of a model can make your child tired and down. Make sure to always keep it fun and exciting and make it an adventure. Remind them that kids almost never get to travel like this, and that it allows them to see the world. A great suggestion would be to find something to collect as a family from all the destinations, like postcards or keychains.
