The Top Clothing Trends of 2022

The year is a few months underway and already we have new clothing trends for 2022. It is always important to stay up to date on new fashions and styles so that when you set up your child model’s social media account, you can rest assured knowing they’re looking their best. The more you know what trends are in, the better you’ll be equipped to pick outfits for auditions and/or photoshoots. It’s also good to know what the industry is doing as a whole so you know which jobs they’ll be best for, based on any styles that you know work on your child. From colors to fabrics, the industry is always changing and growing. Here are the ones that we think will stick throughout the whole rest of this year. 

Trendy Fabrics

Popular fabrics change often, and while they are usually recycled over the years, there are the ones that just never get old. Cotton for example, cotton will always work depending on how you use it. It is also great in the winter or the summer because of how breathable it is. The new additions this year are velour and velvet. These two fabrics are not as common as the others like linen, cotton, or denim. It is great to have a mix of outfits you can use that include these fabrics, because models are always supposed to be on top of trends like these. Simply look in magazines to see the best and newest way to style up these trendy fabrics. 

Hot Colors

This year’s colors are unique and may need to be added to your wardrobe to stand out amongst the crowd, look for shades of mint, bright red, yellow, gray, blue, black and coral. Colors can add so much to an outfit especially when they are unique like the colors listed here. One of the reasons these colors are “in'' right now is because they aren’t often found in most wardrobes. It is not often that you find a mint jacket to pull over your coral top. However, the most of these colors you can add, and mix in with the always popular, gray, blue and black.

Styles for Girls

The types of outfits that become more and more popular change every year as do styles in general. Some styles stick around, for example skinny jeans, however, others get washed away, ugg boots and jean skirts. This year’s top outfits are:

  • Skirts

  • Long Sleeves

  • Outerwear

  • School outfits

Each is unique and each has their own addition to any outfit. School outfits could include knee high socks or plaid patterns. Outwear, try to include some unique pieces such as parkas or raincoats. You would be surprised at the amount of fun pictures you can take with these unique outfits.

Boys’ Fashions

For the boys it is almost more important to stay up to date on clothing trends due to the differences in the amount of options. However, you can still find plenty of trendy options for your child model to add to their collection. In 2022 the top styles this year include:

  • Suit separates

  • Jeans

  • Sportswear

The more unique styles you can add and mix in the trendy colors and fabrics, the more in style they can be the better it is for their careers. It may be difficult to find some suits in coral or mint, but they do exist we promise.
